Summary

If your database is corrupted beyond the repair capabilities of eseutil.exe, or other utilities, you will receive jet errors. Most Jet errors are not repairable and the jet error message that occurs when running eseutil.exe due to data corruption.

Tips

recovering the un-recoverd

When you confront "#define JET_errSLVSpaceMapCorrupted-2226" error, make sure you have enough space available in your hard disk to repair. Stop the Msexchange Informationstore service, re-name the STM file (for the confronted database) use eseutil /p [database path name] /createstm to create a new STM file. Delete all the log files, CHK files in the database/log folder (ex: MDBDATA), re-start the Msexchange Informationstore service, mount the mailstores in ESM manually.
