View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. You upload a 2007 Microsoft Office file to a document library in a Microsoft SharePoint Server 2001 site or in a SharePoint Team Services from Microsoft site. You connect to the document library from a computer that is running Windows Vista. Then, you click the file to open it for the first time. The file opens in the 2007 Office program as expected. However, when you try to open the file again, you receive an error message that resembles the following error message:
Microsoft Office ProgramName cannot access the file 'URLOfFile'. There are several possible reasons:

-The file name or path does not exist.
-The file is being used by another program.
-The file you are trying to save has the same name as currently open file.
If you log off and then log on to the computer, the same behavior occurs.
