The fill color, the fill pattern, or the line color of a WordArt or AutoShape object in an Office document does not change

Symptoms

When you try to change the fill color, the fill pattern, or the line color of a WordArt or AutoShape object in one of the Microsoft Office programs listed in the "Applies To" section of this article, the fill color, the fill pattern, or the line color does not change.

Note When you print the document, the WordArt or AutoShape object prints with the fill color, the fill pattern, or the line color that you specified.

Cause

This problem may occur if you have high-contrast Accessibility Options turned on.

Workaround

To work around this problem, turn off the high-contrast Accessibility Options. To do this, follow these steps.

Note Because there are several versions of Microsoft Windows, the following steps may be different on your computer. If they are, see your product documentation to complete these steps.
  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Click Accessibility Options.
  3. On the Display tab, click to clear the Use High Contrast check box.
  4. Click OK to close the Accessibility Options dialog box.
