OFFXP: Labels in Pasted Excel Chart Object Are Distorted, Unreadable, or Incomplete

When you paste an Excel 2002 chart into a document, the chart X-axis labels may be distorted, unreadable, or incomplete.

This problem may occur if both of the following conditions are true:

• The font size of the chart labels is less than 8 points.
  
  -and-
• The chart labels are rotated.

When the size of the chart labels is less than 8 points, a bitmap representation of the label is created. In Excel 2002, this bitmap representation may be distorted, unreadable, or incomplete.

Note There is some unavoidable distortion in Microsoft Office 2000 programs. However, the distortion in the Office XP programs listed at the beginning of this article is much greater.
