Black AutoShapes May Not Print Completely Black

Symptoms

When you print an AutoShape with a black border to a color printer, the border may not print completely black.

Cause

This problem may occur if the printer driver is using all three colors to print the black border. As of February 2003, this problem is a result of the implementation of GDI Plus.

Workaround

To work around this problem when you want the border to print completely black, print the AutoShape in an earlier version of the program (for example, Microsoft Office 2000 or Microsoft Publisher 2000).
