Known issues in this update

Symptom Workaround

When opening Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-ins you might receive an unexpected download dialog or Internet Explorer 11 might open too. Examples of Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-ins are Services, Event Viewer or Group Policy Editor.

Also, Internet Options might not open from within Internet Explorer 11 or from Control Panel.

To mitigate these issues, install the Cumulative security update for Internet Explorer released May 12, 2020 (KB4556798). Reminder If you are using Security-only updates, you will also need to install the latest cumulative security update for Internet Explorer 11.

Note You are not affected by this issue if you are using the Monthly Rollup released May 12, 2020 (KB4556846). Installing KB4556846 will also mitigate this issue.

Certain operations, such as rename, that you perform on files or folders that are on a Cluster Shared Volume (CSV) may fail with the error, “STATUS_BAD_IMPERSONATION_LEVEL (0xC00000A5)”. This occurs when you perform the operation on a CSV owner node from a process that doesn’t have administrator privilege.

Do one of the following:

  • Perform the operation from a process that has administrator privilege.
  • Perform the operation from a node that doesn’t have CSV ownership.

Microsoft is working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release.
