"We couldn't find an account with that email address" error when you try to activate Office Mobile on iPhone or Office Mobile on Android

Problem

When you try to activate Microsoft Office Mobile on iPhone, available in the Apple iTunes Store as "Office Mobile for Office 365 subscribers,"�or in Microsoft Office Mobile on Android, available in the Google Play store as �Office Mobile for Office 365,� you receive the following error message:
We couldn't find an account with that email address.
This issue occurs if the user name that you entered is incorrect.

Solution

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Make sure that you're entering the correct user name. Check for spelling errors.
