When you use one or more of the programs listed at the beginning of this article, you may notice the following behavior:
- When you attempt to save a document from Microsoft Word to a Web site on the Microsoft Network (MSN), you may receive an error message similar to either of the following:

There has been a network or file permission error. The network connection may be lost.
- When you attempt to save a document from Microsoft PowerPoint to a Web site on MSN, you may receive an error message similar to the following:
There was an error accessing http//path
- When you attempt to save a document from Microsoft Excel to a Web site on MSN, you may receive an error message similar to the following:
- When you attempt to save and publish a web from Microsoft FrontPage to a Web site on MSN, you may receive an error message similar to the following:
Sorry, a Web Site with that name already exists or the name you entered contains word(s) not allowed. Please try another name.
- When you attempt to save a file from FrontPage to a Web site on MSN, and you click the Save button in the Save As dialog, nothing may happen, and the dialog box does not close as expected.
- When you attempt to save a publication from Microsoft Publisher to a Web site on MSN, you may receive an error message similar to the following:
Publisher could not save the file to the web. Check your URL or network connection and try again.
In all of these cases, the document is not saved as expected.
