Web Query Imports Data from a Table That You Did Not Select

Symptoms

When you import data by using a Web Query in the versions of Microsoft Excel that are listed in the "Applies to" section, your query imports data from a different table than the one that you selected in the Web Query dialog box.

Cause

The table that you selected in the Web Query dialog box is a dynamically scripted table. You cannot import data from dynamically scripted tables with Excel Web Queries.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a bug in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
