Error message after you run the MOSDAL Support Toolkit: "Tenant namespace registration information could not be obtained from the Microsoft Office 365 authentication system"

Problem

After you run the Microsoft Online Services Diagnostics and Logging (MOSDAL) Support Toolkit, the Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) diagnostics log contains the following error message:

Tenant namespace registration information could not be obtained from the Microsoft Office 365 authentication system.

Note The AD FS diagnostics log is located here:
\Admin_Applications\SSO_Diagnostic_Tests\ADFSDiagnostic.txt

Additionally, you may notice the following behavior when you sign in to your Microsoft cloud service such as Office 365, Windows Azure, or Windows Intune by using single sign-on (SSO)-enabled user ID credentials:
After you update the user ID field to sign in to https://login.microsoftonline.com, no link is displayed to redirect authentication to an on-premises AD FS service for authentication.

Cause

This issue may occur if the domain that's associated with the user ID isn't added or verified in the cloud service.

Solution

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

Step 1: Add and verify the vanity domain in the cloud service

To add and verify the domain that's used by the user ID that was entered for the cloud service, go to the following Microsoft website:

Step 2: Complete SSO setup

Setup of SSO can't be completed until the associated domain is added and verified in the cloud service. Therefore, SSO setup must be completed.
