Problem

When you use the light version of Microsoft Outlook Web App (OWA) to reply to an email message from an email account that you connected to Microsoft Office 365 pre-upgrade, you receive the following error message:
You dont have the permissions required to send messages from this mailbox.
Additionally, the From field isn't present when you compose a new message or reply to a message.

Solution

To resolve this issue, click to clear the Use the blind and low vision experience check box in OWA. To do this, follow these steps.

Note Before you follow these steps, make sure that you're using a supported web browser. For more info about the system requirements for Office 365, go to one of the following Microsoft websites, depending on which version of Office 365 your organization is using:
  1. Sign in to OWA, and then click Options in the upper-right area of the page.
  2. In the left navigation pane, click Accessibility.
  3. Click to clear the Use the blind and low vision experience check box, and then click Save.
  4. Sign out of OWA.
  5. Sign back in to OWA, reply to a message that's received from a connected account, and then verify that the issue is resolved.

More information

This occurs because the light version of Outlook Web App isn't supported when you reply to a message from a connected account. When you reply to a message from the connected account by using the light version of OWA, OWA tries to send as the default Office 365 pre-upgrade email address.

If the Always Show From option is selected in the message options or from the Exchange Control Panel mail settings, the From field is displayed when you compose a new message or reply to a message from a connected account. However, the From field isn't displayed when you use OWA in the light version regardless of this setting.

The light version of OWA is optimized to support users who are blind or have low vision and supports older web browsers. For more info about the light version of OWA, go to the following Microsoft website:
