OFF2000: How to Automatically Reboot After the First Portion of Setup

Symptoms

When you run Office Setup, you receive the following alert after the initial portion of setup has finished:
The installer must restart your system before configuration of <Office 2000 Product> can continue. Click Yes to restart now or No if you plan to manually restart later.
where <Office 2000 product> is the name of the specific Office product being used.

You will receive the above alert even if you set the REBOOT property to Force in the command-line, the Setup.ini, or the Custom Installation Wizard.

Workaround

To automatically reboot after the first portion of Office setup, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, and click Run.
  2. Type the following command-line in the Open box:
    <path>\Setup.exe /qb-
    						
  3. Click OK.
Setup will run with the user interface in Basic mode. This means you will not be able to make any choices and Office will be installed with default settings.
