OFF2000: Cannot Open Binder Documents After Installing Office 2000

Symptoms

Nothing happens when you double-click your Microsoft Binder documents after you install Office. The Binder files display the generic Microsoft Window icon.

Cause

Binder is not installed with the default installation of Office.

Resolution

To install Binder, follow these steps:
1.Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
2.Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
3.Click Microsoft Office 2000 in the list of available programs, and then click Add/Remove.
4.Click Add or Remove Features in the Microsoft Office 2000 Maintenance Mode dialog box.
5.Click the plus next to Office Tools.
6.Click the Microsoft Binder list, and then click Run from My Computer.
7.Click Update Now.
8.Click OK to the message that setup was completed successfully.
At this point you can open your existing Binder documents, as well as create new Binder documents.
