This message does not appear in the following exceptions.
Exception 1: Install from Network or Shared Location
The prerelease message does not appear when:
- You install Beta 2 and choose Run all from CD.
-and- - You eject the Beta 2 disc from the CD-ROM drive.
-and- - You install the released version from a location such as a network drive, or flat file copy of the CD-ROM.
Because your Beta 2 disc is not in the CD-ROM drive, Setup cannot locate the disc, and the search silently fails, allowing Setup to continue.
Exception 2: Run All from CD
The prerelease message does not appear when:
- You install Beta 2 and choose Run all from CD.
-and- - You eject the Beta 2 disc from the CD-ROM drive.
-and- - You install the released version from the CD-ROM.
Because your Beta 2 disc is not in the CD-ROM drive, Setup cannot locate the disc, and the search silently fails, allowing Setup to continue. Because Office is registered as being on the CD-ROM drive, Setup finds the released version of Office in the CD-ROM and does not display the alert. However, when you restart Windows, a blue screen with an error message similar to the following may appear:
Error reading CD-ROM in drive D:

Run all from CD.
