After you apply security update 936782, you cannot open .swf files in Windows Media Player. You also receive an error message that resembles the following:

Cause

This issue occurs after you apply the security update that is described in the following Knowledge Base article:
936782 MS07-047: Vulnerability in Windows Media Player could allow remote code execution

Workaround

To work around this issue, install a later version of Adobe Flash Player. For example, install Flash Player v.9.0.47.0.

Note On April 18, 2005, Adobe Systems Incorporated acquired Macromedia. Macromedia Flash Player was superseded by Adobe Flash Player.
