The x-coordinate of the scatter data points can be plotted only on the major units of the x-axis in a combination chart in Excel 2010 or in Excel 2007

You use an X Y (scatter) data series in a combination chart in Microsoft Excel 2010 or in Microsoft Office Excel 2007. When the�category (x) axis of the combination chart is formatted as a date axis, the�x-coordinate of the scatter data points can be plotted only�on the major units of the�x-axis.

To work around this problem, format the x-axis of the combination chart as a text axis. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Select the x-axis of the combination chart.
2. Right-click the x-axis, and then click�Format Axis.
3. Click Axis Options.
4. Under Axis Type, click Text axis.
5. Click Close.
