This article describes the updates for the agent software that are installed by Microsoft Intune or Asset Inventory Service (AIS). Microsoft Intune and AIS are two web-based management services. With Microsoft Intune, you can centrally manage and help secure client computers in your organization. With AIS, you can collect and report information about the hardware and software assets in your organization. When you download and run the Microsoft Intune or the AIS client software package on a client computer, the software authenticates and enrolls the client in the Microsoft Intune or AIS service, and the first agent, Microsoft Intune, or AIS, is installed on the client. Following initial contact with the Microsoft Intune service or AIS, Microsoft Intune or AIS schedules the remaining agents for download to the client computer and for installation on the client computer.
The following table lists and describes the updates for the agent software that are installed by Microsoft Intune and by AIS. For more information, see Microsoft Intune Help (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=217984) or AIS Help (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=221492).
