To resolve this issue, you must use the ADSIEdit tool to copy the distinguished name from the All Address Lists attribute into the AddressBookRoots attribute. To do this, follow these steps:
- Log on to a computer in the domain that has the Windows Support Tools installed.
By default, the Adsiedit.msc utility connects to the directory of the domain where you are currently logged on.
- Click Start, click Run, type Adsiedit.msc, and then press ENTER.
- In the console tree, expand Configuration Container [servername.example.com]. In this example, servername is the name of your domain controller, and example.com is the name of your domain.
- Expand CN=Configuration, and then expand DC=ExampleDomain, DC=com.
- Expand CN=Services, expandCN=Microsoft Exchange, expand CN=OrganizationName, and then expand CN=Address Lists Container.
In this example, OrganizationName is the name of your Exchange organization.
- Right-click CN=All Address Lists, and then click Properties.
- Select and copy the DistinguishedName attribute, and then click OK.
- In the console tree, expand Configuration Container, expand CN=Configuration, and then expand Services.
- Right-click CN=Microsoft Exchange, and then click Properties.
- Paste the distinguished name that you copied in step 7 into the AddressBookRoots field.
- Click OK, and then exit the ADSIEdit tool.
