You apply security update 978207 (MS10-002) or security update 980182 (MS10-018) on a computer that has Windows Internet Explorer 7 or Windows Internet Explorer 8 installed. When you try to browse a webpage that contains HTML Components (.htc files), Internet Explorer may crash. Additionally, you receive the following error message: When this issue occurs, an event that resembles the following is logged in the Application log. This error indicates that the crash occurs in the Mshtml.dll module.

To work around this issue, use the onbeforeunload event to dynamically detach the .htc files before you browse to another webpage.
