View products that this article applies to.

On a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 or Windows Vista, you receive the following Stop error message:
STOP: 0x00000027 (parameter1, parameter2, parameter3, parameter4)
The RDR_FILE_SYSTEM
Notes
  • The parameters in this error message vary, depending on the configuration of the computer.
  • Not all "0x00000027" Stop errors are caused by this problem.
This problem may occur when you access shared network resources by using the Server Message Block (SMB) 2.0 protocol.

Cause

This problem occurs when security context initialization fails. In this scenario, the SMB redirector incorrectly calls the DeleteSecurityContext function to free the returned security context handle. The returned security context handle is invalid because of the failed initialization. Therefore, the Stop error message occurs when the invalid handle is accessed.

You expect the SMB redirector (Mrxsmb.sys) to free a security context handle only after the security context initialization succeeds.
