An error is returned when you call the IFsiDirectoryItem::AddTree method in Windows Vista Service Pack 2 or in Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2: 0x80004005 (E_FAIL)

Consider the following scenario:

• You have a computer that is running Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (SP2) or Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2
• You call the IFsiDirectoryItem::AddTree method to add the contents of the same directory multiple times.
• The directory contains multiple files that have long file names.

In this scenario, a "0x80004005 (E_FAIL)" error is returned. However, you expect the file system image to overwite the contents of the source directory if a conflict occurs, as described on the following Microsoft Web site:
This problem may affect applications that use the IFsiDirectoryItem::AddTree method. For example, when some DVD- burning applications try to burn a DVD, the operation may be unsuccessful.

Hotfix information

Important Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 hotfixes are included in the same packages. However, only one of these products may be listed on the �Hotfix Request� page. • Service Pack 1 is integrated into the original release of Windows Server 2008.
• The MANIFEST files (.manifest) and the MUM files (.mum) that are installed for each environment are listed separately. The MUM and the MANIFEST files, and the associated security catalog (.cat) files, are critical to maintaining the state of the updated component. The security catalog files (attributes not listed) are signed with a Microsoft digital signature.
