Introduction

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • In Excel 2007, when you create a scatter chart or a line chart from a dataset that contains a large amount of data points, performance becomes slow.
  • In an Excel 2007 workbook, a chart contains a large Bezier curve and lots of data points. When you try to save the workbook as a .pdf file or as an .xps file, Excel 2007 crashes.
  • In PowerPoint 2007, you open a PowerPoint 2003 presentation that contains an embedded Word object or an embedded Excel object. The embedded object is displayed in the PowerPoint 2003 recolor effect. When you preview the presentation in PowerPoint 2007, the object is displayed in the correct colors in the print preview. However, when you print the presentation, the object is colored incorrectly on the printout.
  • An Excel 2007 workbook contains a scatter chart that uses a logarithmic scale on the x-axis. When you try to check the error bar for the data series in the scatter chart, you receive the following error message:
Negative or zero values cannot be plotted correctly on log charts. Only positive values can be interpreted on a logarithmic scale.
When you click OK in the error message, an unexpected blank area appears in the chart.
  • Consider the following scenario. You copy charts from an Excel 2007 workbook. Then, you paste the charts into a Word 2007 document or a PowerPoint 2007 presentation as linked Excel chart objects. When you save the document or the presentation as a .pdf file or an .xps file, you may have the one or more of the following problems:
    • When you view the charts in the .pdf file, the data series are bold.
    • When you view the charts in the Word 2007 document, the x-axes are bold. The x-axes in other charts are displayed correctly.
  • Consider the following scenario. You copy a compound chart from an Excel 2007 workbook. Then, you paste the chart into a Word 2007 document or a PowerPoint 2007 presentation, as a linked Excel chart object, a Windows Metafile picture, or an Enhanced Metafile picture. When you save the document or the presentation as a .pdf file or an .xps file, the gridlines in the compound chart are displayed bold.
  • You draw a line in a 2007 Office file and specify the position values for the line in the Size and Position dialog box. After that, you find that the line is not in the correct position.
