Introduction

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • You have some .xlsx files that are embedded into Word 2007 documents or PowerPoint 2007 presentations. If the embedded .xlsx files contain cells that use a user-defined function from an Excel add-in (.xla), and the .xla file exists in the XLSTART directory, the path of the .xla file is a full path instead of a virtual path in the embedded .xlsx files. This causes the reference to become specific to the user who embeds the files. Additionally, the reference is not in relation to where the Word documents or the PowerPoint presentations exist.

  • You copy a chart from an Excel 2007 file and then paste it into another Excel 2007 file. You change the data source in the second file. When you close the second file, Excel 2007 crashes.

  • When you open Excel 2007 with more than one workbook loading on startup, Excel 2007 crashes.

This problem occurs when a Ribbon customization that uses Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) callbacks for Ribbon actions is introduced to Excel 2007.

  • Consider the following scenario.
    • You add the Toggle Read Only command to the Quick Access Toolbar in Excel 2007.
    • When you save a file, you enter a password in the Password to modify field.
    • You close and then re-open the file.
    • You click Read Only instead of entering a password in the Password dialog box.
    • You click Toggle Read Only.
    • You save the file.
In this scenario, the file is saved without entering a password. Additionally, password protection on the file is lost.

  • When you open or save a workbook that has many formulas that contain references to external data in Excel 2007, performance is slow.

  • You open a 2007 Office document that contains MSGraph objects. If the original MSGraph objects were created by using colors from a custom color palette, those colors are replaced by the colors from the default color palette.

  • 972577 When you rotate text in cells in an Excel 2007 document on a Terminal Services client that is running in Monitor Spanning mode, the text appears misaligned, partly or completely invisible, or the AutoFit Column Width function does not work
