Symptoms

In Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007, you paste a Microsoft Office Excel chart that is stored in an HTTP location into a presentation by using the default paste operation. When you try to refresh data for the chart in the presentation, you receive the following error message:
The linked file is not available. Use the Edit Links command to find the file.

Resolution

To resolve this problem on a Windows XP-based computer, apply the Excel 2007 hotfix package that is dated April 30, 2009. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
