Symptoms

In a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 environment, a Public Folder Hierarchy replication fails. Additionally, the following event is logged:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: MSExchangeIS Public Store
Event ID: 3079
Description:
Unexpected replication thread error 0x3f0 on database "<Storage Group>/<Public Folder Store>".

When this error occurs, you find that the following event is also logged:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: MSExchangeIS
Event Category: General
Event ID: 9669
Description:
Failed to create a new replica identifier for database "<Storage Group>/<Public Folder Store>" because the number of replica identifiers reached the quota limit (16384).
User attempting to create the replica identifier: "<Replid>"

Cause

The issue occurs because of a problem in the memory usage for the replica ID (Replid). Therefore, the allocated memory is released incorrectly.

To resolve this problem, apply the following update:
