Both public logons and private logons that connect to a Client Access server (CAS) proxy are processed as private logons on an Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1-based server

In an Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1) environment, the following Outlook Web Access (OWA) features have controls that depend on whether a user selects the This is a public or shared option or the This is a private computer option on the Form Based Authentication (FBA) logon page.

• Direct file access
• WebReady Document Viewing

However, the "public" value of the logon session is not processed if you have a Client Access server (CAS) proxy deployed. In this situation, both public logons and private logons that connect to a second CAS proxy server are processed as private logons. For example, customers have two sites deployed together with a CAS proxy. A user of Site 2 logs on to the user mailbox by using an Exchange FBA public logon against the CAS proxy server in Site 1. In this scenario, if the user checks the About page by clicking the Options icon, the user finds the value of the Public logon item is "No."

To resolve this problem, install Update Rollup 9 for Exchange 2007 Service Pack 1.
