The MSExchangeIMAP4 and the MSExchangePOP3 services may crash intermittently on a computer that is running Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 and that has the following event log:

Event Source: MSExchange Common
Event Category: (1)
Event ID: 4999

Cause

A time-out thread that tries to release a connection object that has ended causes the problem.
