The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service crashes when you use a Data Protection Manager (DPM) 2007 server to perform a snapshot backup for an Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 server

Symptoms

When you use a Data Protection Manager (DPM) 2007 server to perform a snapshot backup for an Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1) server, the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service crashes. Therefore, no client accesses respond and you must restart the Exchange Information Store service to resolve the problem. Additionally, when this problem occurs, the following events are logged:

Event Type: Error 
Event Source: ESE 
Event Category: ShadowCopy  
Event ID: 2002 
Description: 
Information Store (xxxx) Shadow copy instance xx encountered error -560 on freeze.  
Event Type: Error 
Event Source: ESE 
Event Category: ShadowCopy  
Event ID: 2007 
Description: 
Information Store (xxxx) Shadow copy instance xx aborted.
