Introduction

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

This hotfix fixes the following issues that were not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
  • When you try to pass more than 256 values to an array in a macro in Excel 2007, the return value is incorrect. This problem does not occur in Excel 2003.

  • When you perform an action that causes a recalculation, such as copying or editing a formula, Excel 2007 may stop responding.

  • When you use the Upper function, the Lower function, or the Proper function in Excel 2007 to change the case of a string that contains Turkish dotted or dotless text, the functions do not work as expected.

  • You cannot apply formulas that are based on named data ranges to a chart series in Excel 2007.

  • After a user opens a shared Excel 2007 file two times, other users can open and apply changes to the file without any notifications.

  • When you try to print a chart in Excel 2007, the printer properties settings do not work.

  • In an application, you add the Dsoframer.ocx ActiveX control. This ActiveX control acts as a document container for Microsoft Office documents in a custom form. When you use the application to create a new Excel 2007 workbook, Excel 2007 appears in the document container. However, if you switch to another application, and then you return to the original application, the Office button in Excel disappears. Additionally, you cannot save or print the Excel 2007 workbook.

  • Consider the following scenario:
    1. You apply a filter in an Excel 2007 worksheet.
    2. You select a value in the filter drop-down list.
    3. You select a color to fill the cells that are displayed.
    4. You select another value in the filter drop-down list.
    5. You select any color to fill the cells that are displayed, even the same color that you selected earlier.
In this scenario, the second color that you chose is not applied.

  • On a computer that has Microsoft Office 2003 Service Pack 3 (SP3) installed, the Variant data type cannot correctly handle negative numbers. For example, you cannot insert a negative number of the Variant data type into a cell. This problem occurs for one of the following reasons:
    • The language locale is not English (United States).
    • The decimal separator is not a period.
  • 957770 Error message when you try to open an Excel 2007 binary workbook in an earlier version of Excel: File error: "Data may have been lost"
