Images cannot be pasted in an Exchange Server 2007 Outlook Web Access message body

Symptoms

In a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 environment, you cannot paste an image from the Windows clipboard into the message body of a Microsoft Office Outlook Web Access item. This problem occurs whether you try to use the Paste command on the shortcut menu that appears when you right-click or the CTRL+V keyboard shortcut.

This problem occurs even though you installed the S/MIME control. This problem occurs in Exchange Server 2007 and Windows Internet Explorer.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, install Update Rollup 7 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1. For more information about Update Rollup 7 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1, see the following Exchange Help topic: For more information about how to obtain the latest Exchange service pack or update rollup, see the following Exchange Help topic:Note After you install this hotfix, you can copy an image in Microsoft Paint and then paste the image in an Outlook Web Access composing form. To do this, you must use the CTRL+V shortcut. The Paste command on the shortcut menu will be unavailable.
