Memory corruption may occur with the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) service on a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 or Windows Vista Service Pack 1

On a computer that is running Windows Server 2008 or Windows Vista Service Pack 1, you execute the Create method on the Win32_Share class. When you do this, memory corruption may occur in the Wmiprvse.exe process. Therefore, the Wmiprvse.exe process may exit unexpectedly.

This behavior may cause an unexpected error code to be returned from Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) calls that are made in other applications. Additionally, other unexpected behavior may occur.
