Message class changes during conversion when a digitally signed Message Disposition Notification is received by a server that is running Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1

Symptoms

When a digitally signed Message Disposition Notification (MDN) is received by a server that is running Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1), the message class changes during the conversion. Therefore, the S/MIME signature may be invisible to clients.

Resolution

Download and install Update Rollup 5 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 1.
