The task originator is not notified of task changes and task progress in an Exchange Server 2007 environment

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

In a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 environment, a task originator is not notified of task changes and task progress if the task is reassigned to other users by the task receiver. For example, assume that User1 sends a task to User2 and that User2 then reassigns the task to User3. When User3 saves the progress update of the task locally, User2 obtains the update automatically. However, User1 thinks that User2 owns the task because User1 does not receive an update.
