Symptoms

After you install cumulative security update 931768 (MS07-027) for Windows Internet Explorer 7, some Web applications that require a large block of contiguous memory may not run because of an insufficient-memory issue. This problem affects Web applications that are running in Internet Explorer or in any other application that uses the Wininet or Urlmon library.

Cause

This issue may occur because security update 931768 (MS07-027) causes the Wininet.dll, Urlmon.dll, and Iertutil.dll files to be loaded into lower address ranges within the process. This behavior reduces the maximum size of contiguous memory that an application can allocate.
