When you browse a Web page by using Internet Explorer 7 on a terminal server, the colors that are displayed in the MDI child forms of the Web page may be incorrect

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You configure a Remote Desktop Connection to use the 256 colors display mode.
  • You use the Remote Desktop Connection to connect to a Windows-based terminal server that has Windows Internet Explorer 7 installed.
  • On the terminal server, you use Internet Explorer 7 to visit a Web page.
In this scenario, incorrect colors may be displayed in multiple document interfaces (MDI) child forms on the Web page.

Note This problem does not occur in Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.

Resolution

Security update information

To resolve this problem, install the most current cumulative security update for Internet Explorer. Workaround

To work around this problem, use a color mode that displays more colors. For example, you can use the 15-bit color setting or a higher quality color setting in Remote Desktop Connection.
