Error message when you try to install Exchange Server 2007: "Internet Explorer Script Error"

Symptoms

When you try to install Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 on a computer, you may receive the following error message:

Cause

This problem occurs because of some corruption in the Exchange Server 2007 Setup files.

Note This issue usually occurs when you download the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) image from a Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) partner Web site, and then you run Setup from an ISO extract.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods:
  • Obtain a new Exchange Server 2007 media DVD from the vendor.
  • Download the trial version of Exchange Server 2007 Enterprise Edition or of Exchange Server 2007 Standard Edition, install it, and then apply the Exchange Server 2007 Enterprise product key or the Exchange Server 2007 Standard product key. To register and download Exchange Server 2007 evaluation software, visit the following Microsoft Web site:Note The Exchange Server 2007 evaluation software is only about 1.3 gigabytes (GB). This is because the Exchange 2007 evaluation software does not include UM (Unified Messaging) software.
