FIX: Internet Explorer 7 may not respond to any mouse operation when you visit a Web page that contains the select.style.visibility='hidden' clause in an onblur event

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. You develop a Web page that contains the select.style.visibility='hidden' clause in an onblur event on a control. When you use Windows Internet Explorer 7 to visit the Web page, the onblur event occurs. In this scenario, Internet Explorer 7 may not respond to any mouse operation. For example, you cannot move the Internet Explorer 7 window by dragging the title bar.

After you move the focus to another window and then you return to the Internet Explorer 7 window, this problem no longer occurs.

This problem occurs on the following operating systems that have Internet Explorer 7 installed:
  • Windows Vista
  • Windows Server 2003
  • Windows XP
