Start times for appointments appear one hour later after November 4, 2007 when they are viewed by a user who has a mailbox on a server that is running Exchange Server 2007

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • User1 uses Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, Office Outlook 2003, or Outlook Web Access (OWA) to log on to a mailbox that is hosted on a server that is running Microsoft Exchange Server 2003.
  • The server that is running Exchange Server 2003 resides in a mixed environment that contains servers that are running Exchange Server 2003 and servers that are running Exchange Server 2007.
  • User1 creates a recurring appointment that occurs daily and that starts on November 1, 2007 at 11:00 A.M.
  • User2 uses Office Outlook 2007 to access a mailbox that is hosted on a server that is running Microsoft Exchange Server 2007.
  • User2 creates a new appointment that occurs daily and that starts on November 1, 2007.
In this scenario, when User2 adds User1 to the list of attendees and then clicks the Scheduling Assistant tab to view the Free/Busy information, the appointment that occurs on November 1, 2007 displays the start time as 11:00 A.M. However, appointments that occur after November 4, 2007 display the start time as one hour later.

Workaround

To work around this issue, follow these steps:
  1. In Office Outlook 2007, open the appointment or meeting request.
  2. Click Scheduling.
  3. Click Options, and then click Show Calendar Details.
After you follow these steps, you can view the correct Free/Busy information for the meeting request. However, an additional 1-hour block is also scheduled as busy.
