You cannot recover e-mail items after you use Outlook Web Access for Exchange 2007 to delete e-mail items in the Deleted Items folder

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. You use Microsoft Office Outlook Web Access for Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 to log on to an Exchange 2007 mailbox. When you right-click the Deleted Items folder, and then click Empty Deleted Items, the Deleted Items folder is emptied. However, you cannot recover the deleted items in Outlook Web Access. Then, you use Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 to log on to the Exchange 2007 mailbox to recover the e-mail items. In Outlook 2007, you click Recover Deleted Items on the Tools tab. However, the Recover Deleted Items list is empty.

Cause

In Outlook Web Access, when you click Empty Deleted Items, Outlook Web Access runs code that permanently deletes the e-mail items in the Deleted Items folder.
