Issues that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

When you use Microsoft Excel 2002 to open a Microsoft Office Excel 2007 worksheet (.xslx file) from a Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server document library, the worksheet name is displayed as XLSX]WorkSheetName. That is, XLSX] is added to the worksheet name.

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem.
