Introduction

The government of Venezuela has announced a new time zone for Venezuela (GMT-4:30). The new time zone change takes effect at 24:00:00 (midnight) on December 31, 2007.

Workaround

To work around this issue, follow these steps:
  1. Use the Time Zone Editor tool (Tzedit.exe) to set the new DST start time and end time for the (GMT+04:00) Caracas, La Paz time zone.

    Note The Tzedit.exe tool is included in the Windows Resource Kit.
  2. Use a script or another tool to copy the registry changes that are made by the Tzedit.exe tool to client computers.
