Symptoms

You install Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 R2, or Windows Server 2008. An event that resembles the following is logged unexpectedly in the Application log or when the computer restarts.

On a Windows Vista-based computer:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: ESENT
Event ID: 215
Description:
WinMail (3924) WindowsMail0: The backup has been stopped because it was halted by the client or the connection with the client failed.

On a Windows 7-based computer:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: ESENT
Event ID: 215
Task Category: Logging/Recovery
Description:
WinMail (2388) WindowsMail0: The backup has been stopped because it was halted by the client or the connection with the client failed.

Resolution

You can safely ignore this event. No problem occurs with Windows Mail.
