The 64-bit version of Exchange 2007 is supported for use in a production environment. We provide the 32-bit version of Exchange 2007 only for testing and for training. The 32-bit version of Exchange 2007 is not supported in a production environment.
However, we do support the 32-bit version of Exchange 2007 for the following uses in a production environment:
- We support using the 32-bit version of Exchange 2007 to prepare Active Directory for the installation of Exchange 2007.
- We support using the 32-bit version of Exchange 2007 for the Admin-only role installation option. This option lets you run Exchange 2007 on a 32-bit system so that you can administer Exchange 2007 from a 32-bit Microsoft Windows XP-based computer or from a 32-bit Microsoft Windows Server 2003-based computer.
