When you
run the
Test-ExchangeSearch cmdlet in the Exchange Management Shell in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 environment, the command fails if it runs
against a remote server that is located in a different domain. For example, this problem occurs if
you run the
Test-ExchangeSearch cmdlet in domain A, and the name of the target server is
ExServerB in
Domain B of the same forest. This is demonstrated in the following command.
Test-ExchangeSearch -server ExServerB.domainB
ExServerB.domainB is the FQDN of ExServerB.
Additionally, you receive the following error message:
The operation could not be performed because of a service
diagnostic exception: Cannot open Service Control Manager on computer
'ExServerB'. This operation might require other
privileges.
