Symptoms

When you move a mailbox from a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 mailbox store or from a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 mailbox store to another Exchange 2007 mailbox store, the mailbox move operation stops responding on the Exchange 2007 server.

Cause

This problem occurs because a heap corruption in the Exschema.exe process may cause a deadlock when multiple threads try to initialize the ExProps subsystem.

The Exschema.exe process initializes a remote procedure call (RPC) to the Store process. Then, the ExoleDB Sync event triggers on the Store process when the Store process receives the RPC call from the Exschema.exe process. During this time, if a mailbox move operation is initiated, the mailbox move operation waits for the ExoleDB Sync event to be finished. This blocks the mailbox move operation.
