Mailboxes that are associated with a Unified Messaging Mailbox Policy object are not changed when you change the "Allow missed call notifications" setting in Exchange Server 2007

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

You change the Allow missed call notifications setting in the Unified Messaging Mailbox Policy object in the Exchange Management Console in Microsoft Exchange Server 2007. When you do this, the Unified Messaging-enabled mailboxes that are associated with this policy object are not changed.

Note The Allow missed call notifications setting determines whether the user will receive notification when a telephone call is missed.

Resolution

To resolve this problem and to change the Allow missed call notifications setting, modify the Unified Messaging settings attribute for the user. To do this, use the set-UMMailbox command in the Exchange Management Shell.

To open the Exchange Management Shell, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, and then click Exchange Management Shell.

The parameter for the set-UMMailbox command is MissedCallNotificationEnabled.

For example, if you do not want a user who is named John Smith to receive missed call notifications, run the following command:
Set-UMMailbox John Smith MissedCallNotificationEnabled $false
If you want to set the MissedCallNotificationEnabled parameter to "false" for all users who are linked to a Unified Messaging Mailbox Policy object, run the following command:
Get-UMMailbox | where {$_.UMMailboxPolicy match "policy_name"} | set-umMailbox MissedCallNotificationEnabled $false
