The calendar opens to August 31, 4500 or to September 1, 4500 when you view a meeting request in Outlook

Symptoms

When you view a meeting request in the Microsoft Outlook Reading Pane and then click Calendar, the calendar opens to the date August 31, 4500 in Day view. In some scenarios, the calendar opens to the date September 1, 4500.

Cause

This issue may occur if the following conditions are true:
  • The organizer is in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 organization.
  • The attendee who experiences the symptom is in a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 organization.

Workaround

To work around this problem, click Go to Date on the Go menu in the Outlook calendar, and then click the date that you want to view in the Date box.

Alternatively, locate the date that you want in the Navigation Pane of the Calendar view in Outlook.
