Excel Services will not load workbooks from sites that are mapped to internal sites that are listed as trusted locations in SharePoint Server 2007

Symptoms

You have many different sites that use alternate access mappings or host-header forwarding in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. However, Excel Services will not load workbooks from those sites. This problem occurs even when the sites are mapped to internal sites that are listed as trusted locations.

Workaround

To work around this problem, add each site that uses alternate access mapping or host-header forwarding as a separate trusted location. Alternatively, add http:// as a trusted location to globally trust all Web sites.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
