Workaround

To work around this behavior, sort the PivotTable report by using one of the built-in sort options in Excel 2007. When you do this, the sort order will be retained when you update the PivotTable report in Excel Web Renderer. To use a built-in sort option, use one of the following methods, as appropriate for your situation.

Method 1: Specify the sort order

To work around this behavior, right-click a row in the PivotTable report, point to Sort, and then click the sort order that you want to use.

Method 2: Use the AutoSort functionality

You can configure Excel 2007 to sort the PivotTable report automatically every time that you update the PivotTable report. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Right-click a row in the PivotTable report, point to Sort, and then click More Sort Options.
  2. Click More Options.
  3. Click to select the Sort automatically every time the report is updated check box.
  4. Click OK to close the More Sort Options (Field) dialog box.
  5. Click OK to close the Sort (Field) dialog box.
