A hyperlinked text box does not function after you save the workbook as a Web page to a Web server in Excel 2002 and in Excel 2003

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. You add a text box to a Microsoft Excel 2002 or Microsoft Office Excel 2003 workbook. You put a hyperlink that links to another worksheet in the workbook on this text box. Then, you save or publish the workbook as a Web page (.htm or .html) to a Web server. In this scenario, the hyperlinked text box does not function as expected when you click this text box on the Web page.

Note In this scenario, the Web server may be a server that is running Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS). Or, the Web server may be a server that is hosting one of the following items:
  • A WebDAV folder
  • A Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services site
  • A Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server site

Workaround

To work around this issue, insert the hyperlink to the other worksheet into a table cell in the workbook instead of putting the hyperlink on a text box.
